Cosmetic Fillers

Fillers are products that are injected to plump up lips and reduce mild-to-moderate wrinkles and furrows (including the lines between the nose and corners of the mouth, the nasolabial folds, as well as the “marionette lines” between the corners of the mouth and the chin).

Most of the fillers are hyaluronic acids, which act like a sponge, swelling with water. The most common fillers include Kysse, Juvederm, Restylane, Belotero, Silk, and Versa. These give temporary filling averaging 6-8 months of enhancement…except Kysse which typically lasts close to 12 months. (Kysse is the world’s favorite lip filler!)

Depending on what you want to achieve, one filler may be preferable to another. Results are seen IMMEDIATELY, and settle in, looking even better over 1-2 weeks. In the unlikely event of a “lump,” hyaluronidase can be injected to dissolve the filler.

If deeper wrinkles or furrows need treatment, or the hollows below the eyes (called nasojugal grooves), a volumizing filler is generally a better choice.
