PhotoFacials/IPL: Perfect for skin that has experienced chronic over-exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet light. Coarse skin texture, irregular pigmentation, and enlarged blood vessels are visible improved with these laser and light-based techniques.
Laser Facial: By gently heating the upper dermis with laser energy well below your skin's surface, this treatment stimulates collagen re-growth. Additional heat is generated in dilated capillaries to reduce redness. A truly rejuvenating treatment.
Photo Dynamic Therapy (PDT): Used to treat acne, this procedure involves applying a topical medication, 5-aminolevulinic acid (ALA), to the skin. The medication is left on the skin for a specified time. The area is then treated with blue light, IPL, or a pulsed dye laser to activate the topical medication, destroying the bacteria that causes acne.

- Sun-induced redness (vascular dsychromia)
Cynosure Laser Hair Removal
Almost everyone has unwanted hair somewhere on their body. Unfortunately, traditional hair removal routines can be tedious, painful and expensive over time. Shaving may last a day, waxing a couple of weeks, but none of them last forever - and therein lies the true beauty of laser hair removal.
Our Cynosure Elite removes unwanted hair with unsurpassed efficacy and client comfort. That's because its revolutionary technology combines two optimal wavelengths in one system: the 755-nm Alexandrite laser and the 1064-nm Nd:YAG laser.
To eliminate hair, the laser emits gentle pulses of energy that pass through the skin to the hair follicle. This energy is then absorbed into the hair follicle to destroy it so that is unlikely to grow there again.
Laser hair removal can be applied to all areas of the body and on all types of skin (even tanned or dark skin).
The laser treatment causes only minimal discomfort. No local anesthesia or pain medication is typically required; however some patients may prefer to use a topical anesthetic when sensitive areas are treated. Patients often say it feels similar to the snap of a rubber band. Slight redness or localized swelling similar to a sunburn can occasionally occur, but this usually subsides within the first 24 hours after treatment. In rare instances, blistering may occur. Three to seven days after treatment you may experience what seems to be regrowth of hair. Most of these hairs are being shed as a result of your treatment and are not regrowing. Between treatments you should not wax or pluck your hair, but it is permissible to shave.
Typically patients will see results in 4 - 6 treatments, though this number will vary based upon skin tone, hair color and several other factors. Interestingly, not all hairs are actively growing at the same time and actually go through three distinct phases: growth, regression, and resting. Cynosure treatments work by disabling the hair that is principally in the active growth phase at the time of treatment. Since other hairs will enter this active growth phase at different times, multiple treatments are necessary to disable all of the hair follicles in a given area. The doctor or clinical skincare specialist will talk to you about variables that may affect your individual results.
CO2 Laser - - - - THE Gold Standard in Wrinkle Reduction!!!
Since the early 1990’s, the CO2 laser has been recognized as the undisputed BEST way to reduce wrinkles. No other laser has been able to do it as well, much less do a better job. Period!
CO2 laser skin resurfacing literally turns back the hands of time on your skin!
In the mid-1990’s, when Dr. Hudak first began using the CO2 laser, she used ones from Lumenis (called Coherent then), Palomar, Sharplan, and NovaPulse. All of these lasers were “totally ablative,” removing all of the epidermis and part of the dermis of the treated skin. While they gave phenomenal improvements in wrinkle reduction, skin-tightening, pigment removal, and scar reduction, they came at a price of a typical 10-14 day downtime and significant pain. Treatment was usually limited to the face, and could not be used on neck, décolleté, hands, or other areas of thin skin safely.
Incredibly, technology has advanced so that our patients can now get those dramatic, remarkable results with just 3-4 days of downtime, on any part of the body’s skin, and with almost no pain! It is done by having the CO2 laser spots placed onto the skin in a pixel pattern (like little dots that connect with each other). It is referred to as Fractional CO2. And it is the hottest topic in all the cosmetic and aesthetic medical journals!
The procedure will not “wear off.” CO2 does not stop the hands of time, but it can most certainly turn back the hands of time quite significantly. Retaining the results is generally nothing more than taking good care of your skin with high quality products, which Dr. Hudak and her staff can give you guidance on. You may have the result of a truly rejuvenated, younger looking face, neck, and décolleté, without the unnatural look of “pulled, taut skin” seen all too often with face lifts---and you can have it all with less downtime and at a price less than a traditional facelift! What isn’t there to love?

- For those who like to know HOW the CO2 laser works to achieve the fabulous results, I have the following bits of information for you:
- The CO2 laser bonds together fragmented collagen
- The CO2 laser takes loose collagen and elastin and causes it to be more tightly coiled, resulting in a 1/3 reduction in size of collagen and elastin molecules.
- The CO2 laser literally vaporizes the surface epidermis skin it contacts, vaporizing wrinkles (rete peg of the skin) and pigmented spots.
- The heat of the CO2 laser stimulates fibroblasts in your skin to produce new skin cells and collagen.
Cynosure Laser Vein Treatment
Leg and facial veins are bothersome at best, unattractive at worst. Fortunately, with cosmetic laser vein removal, you can make yourself look and feel a whole lot better- often times, with as little as only one or two visits.
Red veins, blue veins or purple veins on the leg and face can be a result of sun exposure, use of oral contraception, hormone therapy, age or genetics.
A cosmetic laser emits a prescribed dose of energy to the vein. The laser "selectively" targets the problem veins while sparing surrounding areas. After treatment, the vessel will naturally disappear.
Typically only one or two laser treatments are required and results can be seen in 3-4 weeks. Treatment time usually varies between 10 and 20 minutes, depending on the size of the area treated.
The laser treatment causes only minimal discomfort and may result in mild, temporary bruising. Any redness or swelling should be gone within a day and you'll be able to resume normal activities immediately.
Pigmented Lesion (Sun spot/Age spot) Removal
With today’s outdoor lifestyle, sun-damaged skin is a very common complaint among our patients and clients. Many men and women have solar lentigos (more commonly called age spots), on various parts of the body including the chest, arms, hands and face. Once these spot or lesions have been checked by the Doctor and determined not to be malignant, they may be treated with our Apogee Elite laser, with an Alexandrite wavelength.
What to expect:
This skin treatment is done by directing a beam of light to an irregularity in the skin, such as an age spot. This removes the abnormality without scarring or damage, while stimulating collagen production to tighten the surrounding tissue. This results in improved skin texture as well as reduced signs of aging. Unlike other treatments that remove an outer layer of skin and require healing time, laser treatment works by gently penetrating the skin to destroy the underlying vessels and pigment that are the problem. The outer skin itself is not damaged, thus requiring no down-time.
The treatment can be preformed in a relaxed comfortable manner without the use of a topical anesthetic or gel; the use of a cooling air system will aid with any minimal discomfort. You will be able to return to your normal daily activities immediately, though we will encourage application of sunscreen as a post-treatment precaution. (Please ask us about our amazing post-treatment, moisturizing sunscreen by iS Clinical.)
Who can benefit from laser pigment removal?
We recommend laser spot removal for a variety of our patients/ clients. If you have used a tanning bed or sunbathed recently, we will need to know this prior to spot removal. It may be recommended that you wait until a further examination reveals that your skin is ready for spot removal. Also, please note that best results will result from pretreatment of treated areas. We will assess the best plan of action for each individual patient, but sunspots or agespots may return even darker without the pretreatment of these area. We will educate you about the pretreatment of your skin and provide you with your options at the time of your free consultation.
Skin Tightening/anti-aging
Men and women from ages 25 to 65 can benefit from Laser skin rejuvenation, combating the signs of aging due to fine lines, wrinkles, and sun damage skin by stimulating collagen production and promoting tissue tightening. This treatment can be used for the face, neck, chest, as well as hands.
The Apogee Elite system stimulates collagen production, improves remodeling to get rid of wrinkles and fine lines, and reduces pore size, redness, scar tissue, and other signs of aging. These procedures can be done in as little as a half hour, and have no down time, or recovery period. We will send you on your way feeling pampered and revitalized. You can return to your normal activities immediately after the treatment, without “missing a beat!”

IPL/Photofacial
Used to treat acne, this procedure involves applying a topical medication, 5-aminolevulinic acid (ALA), to the skin. The medication is left on the skin for a specified time. The area is then treated with blue light, IPL, or a pulsed dye laser.
When the ALA Solution is applied to the skin the solution is absorbed by the skin cells where it is converted to a chemical that makes the cells extremely sensitive to light. When the cells are exposed to the BLU-U, IPL or laser this energy activates the chemical and kills the P. acnes bacteria in your skin which causes acne.
The first step in the PDT System is the application of the ALA topical solution to the areas of concern on the individual as determined by the health care professional. This solution is an acid that occurs naturally in your body. It makes the P. acnes bacteria more sensitive to light. This application prepares the skin for step 2 in the PDT treatment. Once the ALA topical solution is applied to the skin, the doctor or health care professional will direct you to wait the recommended time in order to allow the solution to penetrate the target cells mentioned earlier.
After your incubation period, you will receive a blue light, IPL or laser treatment which is the second and the final step in the treatment. The light treatment time is determined by the health care professional.
Studies indicate that PDT provides treatment for both active lesions as well as other inactive sebaceous glands that are not creating active lesions.
Additional benefits of PDT include:
- Minimal downtime
- Healthier-looking skin
- Smoother skin
- Reduced pore size
- More even skin tone
- Reduced redness and flushing
- Reduced wrinkle size
PhotoDynamic treatments are typically spaced at two to three week intervals. The number of your treatments, your treatment time and your treatment intervals may vary depending on the condition being treated.
The most common side effects include scaling/crusting, hypo/hyper-pigmentation, itching, stinging, and/or burning, erythema and edema. Severe stinging and/or burning at one or more lesions being treated was reported by at least 50% of patients at some time during the treatment.
Patients should avoid exposure of the photosensitive treatment sites to sunlight or bright indoor light prior to and at least 48 hours after blue light treatment. Exposure may result in a stinging and/or burning sensation and may cause erythema (redness) or edema (swelling) of the lesions. Sunscreens will not protect against photosensitivity reactions caused by visible light.
