Ear Surgery
Dr. Deborah Hudak offers ear surgery for patients in the Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill areas of North Carolina.
There can be many cosmetic concerns when it comes to your ears. Many children and adults struggle with ears that protrude, causing embarrassment. Others have elongated or torn earlobes, possibly from past piercings. No matter what your cosmetic ear concern is, Dr. Hudak is available to help you in the Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill area with ear surgery—also termed otoplasty.
What Are My Options for Ear Surgery in Raleigh?
Dr. Hudak offers patients in the Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill areas with the following ear surgery options:
- Elongated piercing earring holes and Torn Earlobes
Wearing gauges in your ears can cause the lobes to be permanently open and elongated. To fix this, the ear tissue is brought back together with dissolvable sutures. Fortunately, the skin on your ears heals quickly with minimal scarring.
- Elongated Earlobes
Elongated earlobes can be reduced with the use of a CO2 laser. In other cases, Dr. Hudak can use earlobe reduction surgery where the edge of the earlobe is preserved, and the tissue above the earlobe edge is removed.
- Ear Pinning
Ear pinning is a common and fairly simple procedure used to ‘pin’ the ears back so they don’t protrude as much. This surgery can be performed on children (with full grown features), as well as adults.
